Ghostbusters Pinball from FarSight Studios is a fun side-step in the franchise’s game history. Instead of another action game or management sim, it turns Ghostbusters into a licensed digital pinball table and does a better job with the movie atmosphere than you might expect from a mobile spin-off.
Yes, the free-to-play token system dates it immediately. But underneath that, the table itself was actually trying. It pulled from both Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II, used recognizable quotes and likenesses, and built its rules around familiar locations and moments instead of generic pinball filler.
That gives it more personality than a lazy reskin, which is honestly half the battle with something like this.
Release, developer, and credits

- Developer: FarSight Studios
- Play model: free-to-play with token-based sessions
How the table was built
The main gimmick was the stacked playfield. FarSight divided the table into three movie-inspired layers: the city, the rooftop, and the subway. Players moved the ball between those areas through ramps, tubes, and a manhole while building the Ghost Bonus, unlocking multiball, and eventually crossing the streams on the roof to take down Stay Puft.
That structure helped the table feel tailored to Ghostbusters instead of just decorated like Ghostbusters.
What the mobile version got right
- it used material from both first-film eras
- the table rules followed recognizable Ghostbusters beats
- the layout had its own identity instead of feeling generic
- the business model was annoying, but the table design had real personality
