Jenna is the last ugly wall between you and the credits in Ghostbusters on Sega Genesis. The good news is that she is beatable. The bad news is that the game makes you earn the right to even reach her.
What to do before the Jenna fight
- Try to arrive with enough energy left to keep using the Phaser Shell.
- If you have been leaning on healing items all game, make sure Deep Hole does not drain the last of them before the finale.
- Do not waste health on the rematch bosses. Beat them cleanly and move on.
Best weapon for Jenna
Phaser Shell is the best answer here. It hits hard enough to make the fight feel manageable instead of endless.
If your energy drops too low, switch back to the Normal Shot rather than pretending you can squeeze one more good shell out of an empty meter.
Jenna phase one
In the first phase, Jenna appears as a giant armored monster and starts pressuring you with two main threats:
- a large bouncing heart projectile
- a huge blade she throws like a boomerang
Your job is simple, even if the room does not feel simple. Avoid the weapon patterns, keep your footing, and fire at Jenna’s face whenever you get a clean opening.
Do not chase damage so hard that you walk into the heart or the blade. This fight punishes desperation.
Jenna phase two
After enough damage, Jenna changes form. She loses part of the armored look, starts floating more freely, and keeps throwing the weapon at you from a more annoying angle.
- Keep your distance.
- Stay calm.
- Keep aiming for the face.
The pattern is uglier here, but the rule never changes. Make space, wait for a clean line, then hit the face again.
What usually gets players killed here
- Dumping all their energy too early and reaching phase two with a weak weapon plan
- Getting greedy for extra shots instead of resetting their spacing
- Arriving half-dead from Deep Hole and expecting the finale to somehow be merciful
The short version
If you want the whole Jenna fight reduced to one practical sentence, here it is: use Phaser Shell, keep your distance, hit the face, and do not melt down when the screen gets noisy.
