Extreme Ghostbusters: Zap the Ghosts! is one of the stranger little detours in Ghostbusters game history. Instead of an action platformer or a roaming busting game, this one goes straight at the puzzle-arcade crowd. If the old description made you think of Bust-a-Move, that is because the comparison is completely fair.
You line up shots, clear clusters, chase better scores, and work through a version of Ghostbusters that is built around quick rounds instead of story-heavy progression. It is a weird fit for the license, but also kind of charming because of that.

Why it is memorable
Most Ghostbusters games try to sell you on proton packs, traps, vehicles, or boss fights. This one says, “What if we made a spooky puzzle game instead?” That alone makes it memorable. It is a niche little branch, but it absolutely counts as part of the franchise’s weird game tree.
