Playable walkthrough
The stylized finale looks chaotic, but it is actually very structured. First you earn access to the mausoleum grounds piece by piece, then you rebuild the big doorway, then you beat Shandor in a tighter arena fight before surviving the last Destructor form.
Before you start
- Keep Paragoggles handy. The spectral trails do a lot of the routing work in this chapter.
- Stasis Stream is your best friend whenever the game mixes fast pests with bigger targets. Freeze first, then clean up without the room dogpiling you.
Step-by-step walkthrough
- The Coming Storm: Open the first gate from inside the cemetery. You do that by sliming and slamming the right graves so the dancing skeleton pairs line up correctly. Once the busters come through, move into the next area and slam the protruding coffin to reveal the underground route instead of pacing around the surface wondering where the mission went.
- The Coming Storm: In the underground rooms, keep moving forward unless the chapter clearly branches for a reason. The big alcove room is the main gotcha here. If you open the wrong alcoves, you just get swarmed. Work the correct exit alcove, get back above ground, and then handle the key-ghost maze one color section at a time.
- The Coming Storm: In that maze, use the goggles to follow the trail and clear the key guardians methodically: red section first, then blue, then green. The Gravedigger Ghosts are the bigger threat because they can shoot you while other enemies crowd in, so take them out before you get fancy with the smaller pests.
- The Coming Storm: Once the last guardian drops, go through the newly opened gate and fight Bane by keeping the Grave Scuttlers off you and using Boson Darts on the boss whenever its hand-orb protection opens a window.
- The Necropolis: Think of the big graveyard as four separate recovery jobs, not one giant scavenger hunt. Grab the first door piece, slot it into the mausoleum entrance immediately, then work the outer zones one at a time instead of dragging pieces around while enemies are still alive.
- The Necropolis: In the statue area, slime and slam the four statues until they all face the door piece. That retracts the barriers and hands you the slab without a major fight. The green zone is the real combat test: survive the Undertakers, then the mixed Undertaker-and-Imp wave, then the Grave Golem. Freeze the Imps and the bigger brute when the room gets too crowded, and peel the little demons off first so they stop nibbling away your breathing room.
- The Necropolis: Save the blue zone for last unless you are feeling reckless. That fight mixes Gargoyles with Stone Elementals and it loves interrupting your slams. Slime or freeze the Elementals, knock the Gargoyles out of the air so they stop dive-bombing you, then go back to exposing and slamming the Elementals’ weak points. Once the slab drops, wrangle it straight back to the door.
- The Architect: This fight is simpler than it looks. Keep moving until Shandor settles into a single-ghost form, freeze him, unload damage, then wrangle and slam him toward the center portal when his health collapses. He is too strong for a normal trap here, so think portal shove, not capture sequence.
- The Destructor: The final phase is a clean repeating cycle if you read the mask correctly. First destroy the plain mask. Then attack Shandor directly. When the mask returns with hands, ignore the hands and keep working the mask while dodging the crush attempts. When the mask comes back coated in black slime, strip that off first before you go back to direct damage. When the last shielded version appears, destroy the floating obelisks so the shield drops, then break the mask again. Repeat the cycle until Shandor finally collapses and the cross-the-streams finish opens.
What usually trips players up
- The big graveyard is much easier if you keep cashing in each door piece right away. Carrying them around during extra fights just makes the whole place feel messier than it is.
- In the final boss, the hands are pure distraction. The real sequence is mask, direct damage, slime cleanup, obelisks, then the finish.
