Story
Zuul is a fully corporeal possessor, one of two terror dogs that served Gozer. Capable of interdimensional travel, the terror dogs would travel to any worlds that had summoned them and prepare the way for their master‘s arrival. This was done by possessing two local mortals – at which time Zuul would possess a female to become The Gatekeeper — and performing a ceremony that would allow Gozer to fully manifest. The Terror Dogs‘ physical bodies were destroyed when Gozer was defeated, but they were not trapped, and still manifest from time to time as aggressive ghosts.

Zuul’s original appearance in the Ghostbusters universe was in Ghostbusters.
