Retro Gamer Magazine features the Making of the Ghostbusters 2 Video Game

Ghostbusters 2 Video Game Article from Retro Gamer

I have to start out this story by thanking Proton Charging for tweeting about this. An upcoming issue of Retro Gamer magazine is going to have an article detailing the making of the Ghostbusters 2 video game!

As this site continues to morph into reporting about all Ghostbusters games beyond just Ghostbusters World, this is the kind of content that I am excited to share.

So, I haven’t read an issue of Retro Gamer yet, so this will be a first for me. But, before the pandemic, whenever I saw it on the shelves at a Barnes & Noble, I was always reminded of old gaming magazines like NextGen, GamePro, and Electronic Gaming Monthly. The magazine looks like it comes from the U.K., so keep that in mind if you’re thinking of ordering it.

You can get the issue with a subscription here.

You can also order this single issue here.

The article was written by David Crookes and Darran Jones. They interview Philip Oliver about the game. From the preview pages of the story, it looks like it is a well-researched peak back-in-time to see how the game was received then, at least in the eyes of one reviewer. It goes on to reveal that there were four different versions of the game released at that time. I can’t wait to get my copy of the magazine to read through the rest.

It is in Retro Gamer issue 219
