New Ghostbusters II

This is the start of the section about the Nintendo Entertainment System video game New Ghostbusters II. It was released in Japan and PAL regions, but never released in the United States. It was developed by HAL Labs.

There is also a Game Boy game from HAL Labs that was released as Ghostbusters II. This game was published in Japan, PAL regions, and the US. However, it is not a port of “New Ghostbusters II” from the NES, nor is New Ghostbusters II a port of the Game Boy game. It had its’ own level layouts, cut scenes between levels, and different music.

Cheat Code – Access a Secret Menu

At the title screen press A+B and then press start.

The secret menu includes the ability to change your A and B button settings for which one fires the proton beam and which one uses the ghost trap.

You can also change the game difficulty level between Easy, Normal, Hard, and Pro.

And finally you can listen to the game’s soundtrack and sound effects under “BGM” (Background Music) and “SE” (Sound Effects). Pretty great menu for a game this old. It’s too bad that it is hidden behind a code.
