This May there are new Ghostbusters sets coming from Playmobil. Four of those are limited to 12,500 each, and include exclusive Ghostbusters World content. These figures are six inches tall, and cost $49.99 each. This means that, if you want all four Ghostbusters, it’ll set you back about $200.

We were given a little bit of an accidental preview of what will be included with the cross-promotion with Playmobil a little while ago, with the accidental release of a ghost called Playmobil Librarian.

We don’t know if that’s going to be the only Playmobil ghost, or if it is one of four, or if there will be more than that. Interestingly, at the time that the ghost was leaked, you could put the Librarian and Playmobil Librarian on the same team. Since both ghosts have the same abilities, it was like having two Librarians on the same team. Pretty cool, but we’ll have to re-verify everything once the ghost is actually launched in the game. It is likely that the ghost wasn’t finished yet, and they just started with a template.

Why Playmobil?

A lot of people have asked me why Playmobil is the company doing this cross-promotion. The simplest explanation is this. As one of the first major licenses that Playmobil acquired, I understand it has been a very successful line of toys for them. Plus, they have done an excellent job so far. Their Ecto-1 and Firehouse are both incredible, and their Real Ghostbusters sets were a big surprise and really fun. I am glad they’re doing a tie-in. I think it could be connected to a spring event, but that remains to be seen.
