This Ghostbusters party game turns the ghost trap into a beanbag toss target. It is easy to set up, works indoors or outdoors, and gives younger kids something active to do between cake, gifts, and movie time.
Supplies needed
- A cardboard box, laundry basket, or homemade ghost-trap target
- Beanbags, soft balls, or rolled socks
- Tape or floor markers for the throwing line
- Optional point labels for different target zones
How to set it up
Place the trap target several feet away from the throwing line. For younger kids, keep it close. For older kids and adults, move it back and make the opening smaller. If you want a quick visual touch, decorate the box like a ghost trap with hazard stripes and a front door flap.
How to play
- Each player gets three throws per round.
- Every toss that lands in the trap scores one point.
- If you add multiple scoring zones, the smallest opening can be worth more.
- Play a fixed number of rounds, or keep going until someone reaches a target score.
Easy variations
- Team play: add everyone on the same side together.
- Timed round: players throw as many traps as they can in 20 or 30 seconds.
- Ghost color bonus: use green beanbags as Slimer, blue as Muncher, or pink as mood slime for different point values.
This one would pair especially well with the existing Symmetrical Book Stacking Game because one is about precision and the other is about quick capture.
